Readership Surveys

Most members indicate that they visit their association�s web site at least once during the year.

�Quality of sessions�, �Vendors exhibiting�, �Networking opportunities�, and �Keynote and general session speakers� are primary factors affecting attendees� decision to attend the conference.

An average of 50% response rate has been experienced from readership surveys.


Most members indicate that they visit their association�s web site to find information on upcoming events and news updates.

The majority of the survey participants rated �value received from education sessions� and �value received from exhibition� as excellent or very good.

�Overall satisfaction� with publications has been rated at about 75% or better for most studies.


Members identified �membership directory�, �overall networking�, and �learning practices� as major strengths for their association (high satisfaction / high importance).

The majority of the respondents indicated that their organization pays 100% of the conference fees and expenses. Attendees that do not intend to attend next conference cited �their organization not able to cover expenses� as the main reason.

Factors influencing readers� overall satisfaction with publications include newsworthiness, timeliness, credibility, readability, design, and application to their jobs.


Approximately one third of the respondents indicated they had utilized on-line conference registration for its convenience.

Over 75% of the survey participants rated �networking opportunities� as excellent or very good.

The most widely read periodicals among the readers were the Wall Street Journal and industry-related journals.


Member loyalty develops when organizations consistently meet the expectation of its members.

The majority of the survey participants rated �overall satisfaction with the conference� as excellent or very good.

Participants placed high importance on the association�s website where they visited often.


Loyal members remain with the organization and tend to participate in various activities on an on-going basis.

The top five drivers of overall satisfaction (highest impact to lower impact): (1) Exhibition, (2) Keynote speakers, (3) Networking, (4) Education and resources, and (5) Conference Web site.

About half of the respondents indicated they would prefer to receive newsletters/ publications via e-mail.

Two highest ratings for publications were: Credibility and Readability.
